Mechanical Ask A Question

Question: Will performing service or repairs on my vehicle at Zoel's Body & Auto Center affect my manufacturer’s warranty?
Answer: No, we repair vehicles to manufacturer’s specifications. Federal law gives you the right to service your vehicle wherever you like without affecting your warranty coverage.
Question: If my vehicle's brakes are making noise, does it mean that I need brakes?
Answer: It may. As brakes wear, they are designed to make some noise to alert you. However, sometimes brakes just need periodic cleaning and service. Brake dust may build up to create noise. Checking your brakes periodically, or when things don't feel right, is always a good idea.
Question: Should I have my vehicle inspected for winter, even though it is only a couple of years old?
Answer: Yes! Although your vehicle is newer, do not assume anything. It is a good idea to have you vehicle looked at before harsh weather. It doesn't take long, and that visit could save you from having an untimely breakdown.
Question: What does it mean if my check engine light is on?
Answer: Your vehicle has a computer in it that constantly monitors the way your vehicle is running, and its emissions. If that computer notices a problem, it will turn on your check engine light.
Question: How often should I rotate my tires?
Answer: It is a good rule of thumb, to rotate tires every 8,000 miles. Your vehicle's tire wear pattern, as well as your driving habits, may dictate a more frequent rotation schedule.
Question: When should I change my windshield wipers?
Answer: Change you wipers when streaks appear or when they are noisy. A clean windshield will enable safer and easier driving.
Question: I am looking to purchase a used car. Can you check it over for me?
Answer: Of course! It is beneficial to have you vehicle inspected on your behalf. Most dealers, as well as independent sellers, are willing to transport your car to our shop for one of our technicians to perform a thorough inspection.
